Second Renuka project on UnitingPeople!
After the successful completion of the Yanchok daycare center in Nepal last year (see http://www.unitingpeople.com/en/project/renuka_daycare), we decided with Rineke and the entire team to continue together, focusing this time on the expansion of the Montesorri teaching in the primary and nursery schools in Satrasaya.
The traditional way of teaching in Nepal is severe, aggressive and fear-based which is at the root of more violent attitude in society. In the cities such as Pokhara and Kathmandu however, the standard is slowly improving due to the Montessori method of teaching which stimulates creativity, play and respect. Teaching children to learn in a playful manner, without pressure, allows them to become more creative, balanced and peaceful. This system is slowly being established in the cities and gradually finds its way to more remote areas.
With this second project we will further stimulate a more creative and playful teaching for the smallest in the remote area of Satrasaya. Read and see all the details of the Renuka foundation and this project in these pages, get to know the team, its needs and join them!
