Renuka: Summary Actions / Resumen Acciones 2009

Uniting People has financed approximately 20 % of the Yanchok Center which was set up during the first month of 2009 and inaugurated in July. The Yanchok community was involved in the construction of day care center. It was organized along the lines of the two other day care centers (Aabukhaireni and Bandipur Village) which had opened previously. The center offers holistic education to 25 little ones and guarantees them a better start in life. The fact that the children can be left in the care of the day center staff allows the mothers to participate in agricultural activities which in turn generates additional income for the community.
The center also uses the Montesori method which has been proven to be very effective in stimulating the creative development of children. Initially, the teachers of the Yanchok, Bishnu and Laxmi centers encountered difficulties because of the
diverse ages of the children (1-5 years) and their varying needs. In addition, some of the children presented certain deficiencies.
Rineke and her team plan to initiate a new project in 2010 which will offer education based on the Montesori teaching method and supply books and didactic materials for the nursery and the primary schools at Satrasaya. This will present a higher quality of education and bring continuity to the different educational centers in the area.

Uniting People ha financiado el 20% del centro de Yanckok que se construyó durante los primeros meses del 2009 y se inauguró en el mes de julio. Se involucró en la construcción del centro de día la comunidad de Yanchok, siguiendo el modelo de desarrollo del proyecto que se habían aplicado en los dos otros centros de día (Aabukhaireni, y Bandipur Village) que se habían implementado anteriormente. El centro ofrece educación holística a 25 pequeños y les garantiza un mejor inicio en sus vidas. El poder dejar los niños al cuidado del centro de día permite a las madres de poder participar en actividades agrícolas que les dan unos ingresos adicionales.
En este centro también se está implementando el método Montesori que prueba ser muy efectivo y estimula el desarrollo creativo de los niños. Los profesores del centro de día de Yanchok, Bishnu and Laxmi, tuvieron dificultades al inicio porque tenían niños de diferentes edades (1-5 años) con necesidades muy diferentes y además algunos entre ellos con deficiencias.
Rineke y su equipo quiere iniciar un nuevo proyecto en el 2010 que consiste en ofrecer formación en el método de enseñanza Montesori, libros y material escolar para nursery y la escuela primaria en Satrasaya y de este forma ofrecer una mejor cualidad y continuidad entre los diferentes centros educativos por la zona.
