New Therapists Join Hope Centre with help of Handicap International
It has been very busy here in the past few weeks!! Through the support of Handicap International, She Hope and the Hope Disability Centre has hired physiotherapists, an occupational therapist, and will soon have 18 people out in the villages of mountainous Kashmir, locating and helping Kashmiris with disabilities. We had a training session for the new staff, and as part of the training, all of us were given a disability of some sort - blindness, missing limbs, contractures, etc, and we had to eat our lunch and go to the toilet during the hour. It was a valuable experience for all of us, and a good team building exercise for all of us who are working together for the first time for the benefit of the Kashmiris with disabilities.
