Land for our Kupwara
Hello to all, Two weeks ago we received a visit from Diane (from our sponsor MEND, New Zealand) and we all are jointly working together for many things . We took her to many rural villages where we met with all the disabled children who recently underwent surgery and others who are still in Hospital. We have already a piece of land for our Kupwara outreach project which was offered by the local community. We can start work immediately when funds will be available to built the centre.
As far as the survey’s figures are concerned, a total estimate of 35000 children are disabled is this district. Also the death toll during the past militancy was very high. Kupwara has villages in which more than 40 people were killed in one day and the total estimate is more than 25000. Our Hope centre is having lot of things to do there for community and disabled people, which is just one component out of whole picture. There are many challenges to face and the Hope centre will do its best to deal with this as good as we can and help the neglected and needy disabled, with your support.
Regards
Sami/Tahir
