Kashmir Outreach Project at Kupwara
Dear supporters of Hope Disability centre: Our outreach project which is functioning at Kupwara Near Border is functioning properly with a good community support. Presently we are fitting artho support and doing surgeries to 20 disabled kids from that area whome we brought to town fortreatment. All these kids are being coverded with the support of ALTSO and MEND. Seven kids alreaday disacherged from hospital and they are now rehabilatating by Hope centre by givinh them proper treatment,physio,etc.
We have conducted Community Based Rehabilatation programmes in three other villages at Kupwara since three days back in which we registered new 389 disabled kids who so far have not reveived any type of help from any one. We on spot agreed to help them but we don,t have adequate sources to cover them. We hope well and have excectations that our proposals which are in pipe line will be sanctioned soon so that we not only will build a permenent centre at Kupwara but will cover all those kids who still doesn't know that they will be alright if treated immediately.And Our centre's main objective is to see disabled kids walking as normal.
Tommorow Diane (secretary MEND NZ) will visit our centre and will be with us for two months. She will train our staff and other disabled members in Computer's .
