Dynamic Teen Company launched its Giant Pushcart
Signifying a thump on the “go signal” to further its operations, Dynamic Teen Company just launched its giant pushcart, the Kalingain Batang Mahirap Foundational Center (KBMFC), last June 4 in Cavite City.
The said three-storey pushcart building was designed and intended for services such as daily tutorial for kids and mentoring program for the volunteers, as well as the primary venue for DTC activities and trainings centered on youth empowerment. Its main facilities include an activity area wherein most of the group’s activities are to be conducted, and a library which will serve as an avenue for the kids’ learning. The building is also supplemented by amenities such as a kitchen, a warehouse/stockroom, an office, a meeting area, a roof deck and viewing deck, as well as tenant rooms.
Popularized as “KarBuil” which stands for Kariton Building, the giant pushcart also functions as the volunteers’ quarters where they can conduct their regular outreach preparations, meetings, fellowships, and gatherings.
Highlights of the operational launch included a presentation of the overview of the building, its purpose and facilities, as well as a panel discussion with which members of DTC’s technical and operational team shared insights and explained further details of the group’s operations in entirety. Shortly, a building tour which allowed the guests to walk around and preview in the structure – with a demonstration of the actual functions of each amenity – took place.
During the whole course of the event, the group also had a booth for its “Tindahan ng Pagbabago” where the guests buy DTC souvenirs and merchandise. Tindahan ng Pagbabago seeks to promote change that the group espouses with an end goal that kids would have access to better education. Thru the products availed of, people can make known to others what the group has achieved, is achieving and seeks to achieve more in service of others. The proceeds of the products being offered are funneled back into the group for support in their activities.
Since its inauguration last March 5, the group underwent, and is still in the process of conducting several procedures which readies the building in venturing into its full operations. One of which is the assessment of the Kariton Klasrum kids, which primarily intends to gauge the school readiness of the outreach students. It is spearheaded by a team of professional teachers, known as DTC’s technical team. Information, instructional materials, and other relevant systems are then cascaded to the outreach educators for implementation on their respective sites and classes. This assessment scheme will then help the group in identifying the kids who will be enrolled in the free tutorial classes.
“The pushcart building is not a formal school; it sends a message of love for learning. Its goal is to encourage youth to gain back the interest in learning and it will serve as a hub,” emphasizes Kuya Ef, CEO of Dynamic Teen Company.
