Concrete Slab Poured on 1st floor addition

This past weekend the concrete slab roof was poured on the 1st floor addition to the Hope Centre in Wayil. The unseasonably warm winter in the mountains of Kashmir has helped us continue construction far beyond normal times. Now that the slab is poured, it can rain and snow all it wants, and there will be no water damage to the ground floor with its new walls and paint. I have attached a photo of the slab being poured. The good weather has also enabled more Kashmiris with disabilities than normal to travel to the Hope Centre for assistance. The technical team is busy every day with new and existing patients. We must still turn away patients every day, however, which is heartbreaking. Some are older than 18, and don't qualify for Handicap International support, and we have no donors for these patients. Some have hearing problems, which is another disability outside the scope of HI's project, and which we have no funds for. Some have mental disabilities, and we have no funds for special schooling this year. So please consider a donation for the disabled who must sit and wait, year after year, for some kind of help. The ones who are not cute and adorable, the ones for whom surgery is no longer an option, the ones who need special training simply to feed themselves, and the elderly, who only want a used hearing aid. Your donation goes a very long way at the Hope Disability Centre, where every rupee is carefully spent where it will do the most good for Kashmiris with disabilities.
